Terry Hearn's favourite rig
Everyone has a favourite rig; their old reliable which they tend to start off on when they fish a new water, then change things up when they feel the need – what’s your ‘old reliable’ and why use it?
“If you haven’t already guessed, it has to be the Hinged Stiff Link, simply because I’ve built up a lot of confidence in its effectiveness as a big carp rig over the years. Saying that, I’ll just as often use a bottom bait presentation, especially if I’m fishing over bait and I feel that the bottom’s clean enough. It really does depend on the situation. If I were to tie up new rigs at home, all ready for my first trip and a dawn start on a new water, then they are most likely to be Hinge Rigs… Hmmm, maybe with a Chod on one…”
