The Ultimate Rig Guide 10th Anniversary!

This new guide brings rig-tying and knowledge up to date for 2022 and tells you everything you need to know about every rig ever publicised. ‘What, why, when and how’ are all covered.

A lot has changed in the last 10 years. Back in 2011, Chod Rigs ruled rig boards; the Ronnie was used only by its creator, Ronnie Corbett on Elstow; and commercially available hooks of hand-sharpened quality—those now going by the name of Kamakura—were just a glint in Danny Fairbrass’s eye. Even the volume of information it’s possible to cram into 164 pages has gone up, if this 10th anniversary edition of The Ultimate Rig Guide is anything to go by!

Once again we set out to create the most informative and detailed rig book available, but not only to help you tie more refined rigs. This time around we’ve gone into great depth, and we explain why, when and where you’d use each of the 20 rigs covered. Of course, Terry Hearn’s here to explain why casters are amazing (they certainly weren’t on the radar of the masses back in 2011!), and Kevin Nash explains why he loves bungee-style rigs. There’s also a comprehensive guide to hook and lead patterns, knot sequences and line management. It’s all the brilliant stuff you won’t find in one place on a Google search. Good luck, carp!

You can get hold of your copy in two ways: the printed version is just £7.99 and available here or you can download the digital version for £4.99—just search CARPology Magazine on either app store.
