Tom Maker's Washed-Out Krill Active Mulch Spod Mix

Tom explains how he goes about knocking up a simple spod mix with just four basic ingredients. Its effectiveness, however, can not be questioned...

Small baits presented on a tight area create a competitive feeding response that suits my style of angling. By soaking boilies in water, they become very heavy, and when crushed, will form an incredibly attractive mulch that is far denser than a mix created by just crumbing boilies straight out of the bag. This key element in the preparation ensures that small particles of boilie will make it to the lakebed. The crushed boilies and flecks of colour provided by the sweetcorn combine to create a simple, yet deadly spod mix.

What you need:
l Krill Active Frozen Boilies (16mm)
l Sweetcorn
l Hemp
l Cloudy Krill Liquid

HOW TO MAKE IT:
1. Place the boilies in a bucket, cover them with water and leave for at least 24hrs

2. Prior to your session, grab a spare bucket and a handful of soaked boilies…

3. Squeeze the softened boilies in your hands to form a pulp

4. Once you have your desired amount, add hemp and corn

5. Finally, add Cloudy Krill Liquid to give the mix a little moisture and bind everything together
