''Unlike any other fake corn...''
Does your fishery ban artificial hookbaits? Japanese bait giants, Marukyu may have a solution...
There’s quite literally a plastic-ton of different versions of fake sweetcorn on the market, but few have made such an impressive entrance as Marukyu’s Credence Corn. Their fully bio-degradable alternative to plastic baits ticks off every must-have plus some more you didn’t know existed…
I’ve heard it all now! How can this be any different to all the other bits of fake corn?
Give us a minute and we’ll tell you! We’ll start with the very basics: unlike all other fake hookbaits, Credence Corn is a fully bio-degradable, meaning it’s the ultimate alternative to the highly controversial plastic baits which a number of fisheries are now banning. AND! Before you ask, no, just because it’s bio-degradable doesn’t mean it’s soft and will come off your Hair on a long-chuck. It’s tough and virtually indestructible when small fish peck and pull at it.
How long does it take to break down then?
That really depends on the conditions, as it’s broken down to nothing by bacteria and light, but on average it’s usually less time than any pop-up or shelf-life boilie.
What happens if a fish eats it before that point?
In the highly unlikely event that a fish actually eats the hookbait, nothing untoward will happen. Unlike most artificial hookbaits, Credence Corn is soft so it’ll pass through a fish just like any other food item.
What the hell is it made from?
That’s a trade secret! To be honest, they wouldn’t even tell us, but the rep did say, “The process to manufacture Credence Corn is very expensive and is rarely seen outside of Japan”. In terms of what makes it so attractive, we can tell you that: it’s packed full of amino acids and scent attraction which slowly leach out over a 12hr period.
Is that the liquid which in the packet?
Yes, but that liquid is also included at the production stage so it’s right at the core of the bait; the liquid contained in the packet is just like a secondary glug and too also stop the corn drying out. Basically it’s giving you double the attraction!
How does the range shape up?
It’s available in just one format: sinking; it comes in just one flavour; but it is available in three colours: Yellow, White and Red, so not only is it banging out masses of attraction, it’s a highly visual hookbait too.
