Versatile Indication

One indicator to cover all situations? Not possible! ND says differently…

Image

It can be rare for a carp angler to change their indicator set-up unless the items become lost or broken, but maybe we should give more thought to changing and tweaking these items. Different angling situations can require different indicators, but buying lots of different ones is seen as expensive and impractical. Enter the ND T4 solution…

Is this just a single indicator?
Yes, but definitely also no! The T4 is sold individually (for one rod) but each pack contains a variety of options in terms of how you deploy it.

So it’s a bobbin?
It can be, but also a swinger. In bobbin form you get a short ball-link chain which allows it to hang freely on your line. However, if you want the wind-beating rigidity of a swinger arm then you can use the carbon arm provided.

What’s that cylinder on the swinger arm?
It’s a sliding weight, allowing you to fine tune the amount of tension under which your line is held. Slide it closer to the indicator itself for more ‘weight’ and towards the bite alarm for a more delicate arrangement. This means you can fish subtle margin traps on semi-slack lines or bow-string-tight Zigs with the same indicator. Neat, right?!

I like it. And there’s more than one head?
Yes, there are three different bodies included in each pack, allowing you to adjust the weight when deploying the T4 as a bobbin on a chain.

How about the line clip itself?
That’s also got a few different uses! You can adjust the tension in the ball-bearing clip to fit any diameter of line without causing damage, or you can push the line further down into the clip so that the bobbin moves whenever the line does.

Is there any illumination?
Nothing is built in but you can easily add New Direction’s UV-reactive lights or isotopes in the slot at the front of the bodies.
